Can you tell us something about your company?

Founded in Gouda in 1922, Mokveld has built a strong reputation for designing and manufacturing reliable and sustainable engineered valve systems for critical control and safety applications. These valve systems are tailored for specific functionality in pipeline processes in the oil and gas, hydrogen, carbon capture, hydropower and water infrastructure industries. Mokveld Valves B.V. has been supplying engineered valve systems to customers in the USA since the 1970s. To better serve the market and demonstrate our commitment, Mokveld USA Inc. was established in 1987 with an office in Houston.

Why did your company choose Texas?

Houston is an important capital of the oil and gas industry in the US, with all the major companies and engineering firms concentrated in the city and surrounding area. Thanks to its good infrastructure and connections to everywhere in the US and beyond, it is an ideal base for our business in this part of the world.

What advice can you give Dutch entrepreneurs who want to do business in Texas?

Don’t try to reinvent the wheel yourself. Seek out local peers and make use of services such as the NBSO.
