Can you tell us something about your company?
Hydraloop manufactures decentralized greywater recycling equipment. With Hydraloop, you lower both your potable water consumption and your wastewater emission by 25% to 45%. You also reduce your carbon footprint, because less water needs to be transported to and from the building, and less water needs to be cleaned in wastewater facilities. In countries with cooler winter climates, you also save energy. With Hydraloop, you use water twice – without compromising on living comfort or hygiene.
Why did your company choose Texas?
Hydraloop is focused on US states that are currently under water strain. As Texas is expected to gain over 22 million people by 2070, at the same time their water supply is projected to decrease by 18%. By using water twice in the home we can help save on water use and the amount of energy needed for that water. Texas has a diverse economy with key industries including energy, technology and agriculture. We feel that Hydraloop will be accepted readily with time.
What advice can you give Dutch entrepreneurs who want to do business in Texas?
As Texas is such a big state, seeing an impact will take time and patience. Texas is among the greenest states in the country and we believe that each area that we impact will set a precedent for other areas of the state. With our focus being in the Austin area, one of the leading eco-friendly cities in the US, we feel that our impact is closer than we think.
