Can you tell us something about your company?

Conbit provides lifting and handling services for companies in the energy sector. (B2B) Our services contain engineering, project preparations, project management, and execution of lifting and handling jobs. We provide office personnel, crew and equipment to execute our projects. Customers visit Conbit with their lifting and handling challenge, often at difficult to access locations. Conbit designs a solution based on in house developed as well as off the shelf equipment. Crew and equipment travel to the client site where the equipment is assembled, the lifting or handling job is executed, equipment is disassembled again after which crew and equipment travel back to Conbit.

Why did your company choose Texas?

A couple of years ago, we had set for the US market to be a high-potential target for Conbit. After hiring a Sales Manager, we soon became successful with the amount of projects. That success also amplified the wish from our clients, to have an actual establishment here in the Gulf of Mexico, with Houston as its Energy Capital of the world.

What Kind of advice can you give to Dutch entrepreneurs who want to do business in Texas?

Our tagline is ‘the Power of Preparation’ which is needed in a country like this. Set your goals, prepare meticulously, and partner up with solid companies who can help you on your way. Ask questions, challenge them, and above all, have an entrepreneurial mindset. (As I’m sure, most companies will have).
