The Netherlands has a new official Honorary Consul in Austin! Mr. Marius Haas.
The opening of an Honorary Consulate in Austin, Texas, underlines the importance of the economic ties between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the State of Texas, and in particular, the firm commitment of the Netherlands to expand and further strengthen these relations in the rapidly growing greater Austin area. We are excited to be present in the Capital of Texas, and the Capital of tech and innovation. As Honorary Consul, Marius Haas will help build connections in the areas of technology, sports, the creative industries, and other priority sectors for the Netherlands. He will also provide consular support to Dutch citizens in emergency situations.
Marius Haas is a Founding Partner of Bay Pine, a private investment firm, Co-Owner of Austin FC, former President and CCO of Dell Technologies, and has a long track record in executive leadership roles in the tech industry. Dutch-born Marius Haas will proudly be a linking pin between the Netherlands and Austin: “It is a privilege and honor to serve my native country in the capacity of Honorary Consul. The greater Austin area is a fast-growing technology and cultural hub and my new role reflects the Netherlands’ focused effort to strengthen its ties to this attractive market.
