Hydrogen Tech Expo

The NBSO Texas team had the pleasure of attending the Hydrogen Technology Expo North America in Houston, one of the premier events in the region dedicated to advancing hydrogen technologies and solutions. As the hydrogen economy rapidly accelerates in Texas, it was inspiring to see four innovative Dutch companies actively contributing to this global transition.

We were proud to meet and support Bronkhorst, Stirling Cryogenics, Avantium, and Kiwa, all of whom showcased their cutting-edge technologies across the hydrogen value chain:

  • Bronkhorst develops advanced flow measurement and control solutions that support hydrogen applications ranging from production to storage and utilization. Their technologies contribute to optimizing processes in fuel cells, combustion systems, and hydrogen infrastructure.
  • Stirling Cryogenics offers specialized expertise in cryogenic technologies, including solutions relevant to hydrogen liquefaction. Their systems are well-suited for use in smaller-scale or distributed hydrogen projects, particularly in conjunction with renewable energy sources.
  • Avantium provides high-throughput experimentation platforms for accelerating the development of green hydrogen technologies. Their tools support research and testing in electrolysis, CO₂ conversion, and thermochemical hydrogen processes.
  • Kiwa is a leading player in hydrogen testing and certification. With a global network of laboratories, including facilities dedicated to hydrogen pipelines and automotive components, Kiwa helps ensure safety and reliability across the hydrogen supply chain. They also offer consulting and training services for hydrogen infrastructure development.

During the expo, we had the opportunity to share our recently published Hydrogen Texas Market Scan, which identifies concrete opportunities for Dutch SMEs in the dynamic Texas hydrogen ecosystem. The event also provided a great moment to promote the upcoming Hydrogen Innovation Mission in November 2025, organized by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), which will include visits to both Canada and Houston.

Hydrogen continues to be a strong area for transatlantic cooperation, and it’s encouraging to see Dutch expertise well-represented at the forefront of this transformation. We look forward to building on the connections made at the Expo and continuing to support Dutch companies exploring the U.S. hydrogen market.
