The Contemporary Austin proudly opened HOST: Tenant of Culture, the first U.S. solo exhibition by Dutch artist Hendrickje Schimmel, known as Tenant of Culture. Her work deconstructs and reconstructs discarded garments into sculptural pieces, exploring the fast-paced fashion industry and its environmental impact.
During the opening reception at the Jones Center, guests enjoyed an exclusive first look at the exhibition and interactive art presentations. Supported by the Mondriaan Fund and Dutch Culture USA, this exhibition highlights the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and contemporary art.
