Dutch Innovation in Public Safety Demonstrated in Houston

Last January, NBSO Texas attended a demonstration of the Bulldog Deflation System at the Houston Police Department Academy. The system was developed by the Dutch company Technics & Production BV and the visit provided insight into ongoing developments in the U.S. market related to safety and mobility.

The Bulldog Deflation System is a remotely operated tire deflation solution that can be deployed and retracted from a safe distance. It is designed to offer hands-free option for vehicle interdiction during high-speed pursuits and traffic operations. The session at Houston Police Department Academy was attended by officers and public safety professionals who are exploring alternative technologies aimed at enhancing operational safety and efficiency.

In the United States, manual spike strips are still commonly used in traffic enforcement, which can involve risks for officers during roadside deployment. Technologies such as remotely operated deflation systems illustrate how innovation can contribute to safer working conditions and improved operational processes.

Technics & Production BV is active in developing technical solutions for safety and mobility challenges. Their presence in the U.S. reflects growing interest in international collaboration around innovation in public service environments.

NBSO Texas appreciated the opportunity to observe this demonstration and gain insight into current developments in the field of public safety.
