Joining Forces to Address Flood Challenges in Texas and Florida
The Partners for International Business (PIB) program “Dutch Flood Resilience Solutions”, coordinated by Dutch Water Prevention, brings together a dynamic consortium of Dutch companies, knowledge institutions, and strategic partners to work collaboratively with US counterparts on some of today’s most pressing water challenges.
The program focuses on delivering temporary flood protection solutions as part of integrated, area-based strategies, developed in close cooperation with landscape architects, urban planners, and research institutions. These efforts are designed to complement and strengthen existing U.S. expertise, particularly in Texas and Florida, where communities are increasingly impacted by extreme weather and flooding.
The initiative aligns closely with major U.S. investments in flood mitigation, including federal and state programs such as the $54.5 billion Texas State Flood Plan. By combining temporary protection measures with monitoring, early warning, and long-term planning, the Dutch consortium seeks to work hand in hand with U.S. partners to strengthen community resilience. Over the course of three years, the program will foster sustainable partnerships and introduce practical, innovative solutions tailored to local needs, supporting ongoing efforts to enhance flood resilience across the region.
NBSO Texas, together with RVO and the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Miami, proudly supports this program with great enthusiasm. We are particularly pleased with the involvement of the Institute for Disaster Resilient Texas (IDRT) and look forward to forging strong partnerships with a wide range of Texan stakeholders to advance innovative, integrated flood resilience efforts.
Interested partners are warmly invited to connect with NBSO Texas to explore opportunities for collaboration.
