Last week, the NBSO Texas team joined colleagues from across the United States at the Economic Network Days (END), hosted at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington D.C.
This annual gathering brings together the Dutch economic network in the U.S. including representatives from the Consulates General, the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), Agricultural and Innovation Attaches, and the Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSOs). The goal: To strengthen collaboration, share knowledge, and coordinate strategies to better serve Dutch companies as they explore and expand into the American market.
Exploring Key Sectors and Business Support
The program featured in-depth sessions on priority sectors where Dutch expertise and U.S. opportunities meet, including water, energy, the future of computing, life sciences & health (LSH), and agritech. In addition, discussions on business support explored how we can sharpen our services and create even more impact for Dutch entrepreneurs across the U.S.
These exchanges allowed colleagues to learn from each other’s experience in different regions, identify synergies, and align strategies for the coming year(s). For NBSO Texas, it was a chance to share insights from our work in the Lone Star State while also gathering fresh perspectives to bring back to our local network.
Meeting the new Head of Economic Affairs
We also had the pleasure of meeting Danielle van Mulukom, the new Head of Economic Affairs in the USA.. Her leadership will play an important role in further strengthening the Dutch economic network and advancing collaboration between the Netherlands and the United States.
Looking ahead
The Economic Network days also provided valuable space to reflect on the broader U.S.-Netherlands economic relationship and the role our network plays in strengthening these ties. With Dutch companies increasingly active in sectors like life sciences & health, energy transition, and agritech, the importance of close collaboration across the network has never been greater.
We return from Washington D.C. with renewed energy and a stronger sense of shared mission: to help Dutch entrepreneurs succeed in the United States.
A special thank you to all colleagues and speakers who contributed to making the Economic Network Days a success. We look forward to building on this momentum throughout 2025 and beyond.
